Advanced Therapies

Aqua Massage

Aquamassage is a massage treatment that is performed on warm water cushions that are placed on a massage couch. The treatment can be performed with or without oil. The client lies face up and does not have to turn over, which is ideal for people who do not like to lay face down.

The therapist works between the cushions and the client's body using upward pressure. The warm water relaxes the muscles and the water supports the body, this gives a sensation of floating.

Aquamassage is suitable for all ages and it is particularly suitable in the later stages of pregnancy. Aquamassage can be useful in the context of medical conditions such as Parkinson's, MS, ME, arthritis and muscle strains, as well as helping with postural correction.

Thai Massage

Performed through your clothes, Thai Traditional Massage leaves you in a state of relaxation and has existed for over 1000 years, in pretty much the same form that is used today.

You lie on a mat on the floor, fully clothed except for shoes and socks. The practitioner uses thumbs, palms, forearms, elbows, feet knees and even shins to press and stretch your body. Thais believe that good health and freedom from pain result from the unhindered flow of vital energies through the body's tissues. The main 'channels' for distributing these energies are called 'Sen'. Pressing is the mechanical process used to stimulate energy flow in the Sen, and to release blockages or stagnation which result in pain. When the practitioner is satisfied that all soft tissues have been adequately pressed, stretching begins.

Regular Thai massage stretches the muscles back to their normal resting length, so before long, tension disappears and joint mobility is restored.

First time recipients of the massage react differently; some find the pressing techniques - particularly those done with the thumb - a little uncomfortable; others are shocked at the degree of stretching their stiff body can achieve. Almost all feel relaxed, refreshed and much more flexible afterwards, and those who have regular Thai massage come to enjoy the deep pressure techniques and manipulations.

AromaTouch Technique

The AromaTouch Technique is a simple yet powerful way to provide every individual with an essential oil experience. The treatment uses specific blends of DoTerra oils (diluted to a safe level) which are applied to the back, neck, head and feet using a very light touch which promotes a deeply relaxing state for the client.

After–Care Advice

There might be after effects and these are normal reactions to treatments. The symptoms can be uncomfortable at the time and usually pass after 24 hours. Your body is working to remove toxins from your system and your treatment speeds up this process.

Typical after effects may include tiredness, muscular aches and pains, going to the toilet more often, changed sleep patterns and headaches.

To make sure that you get the most from your treatment, you should follow the guidance below:

Drink plenty of water.  Massage helps your body remove toxins from your body. Drinking plenty of water helps this process.

Eat Light Meals. Avoid heavy, stodgy foods; they usually contain more toxins and are harder for your body to break down.

Relax. Try and rest as much as you can after a treatment, you should feel revitalised. Remember, no housework!!

Don’t sun bathe or use sun beds, it isn’t safe as your skin will burn easily due to the oils.

Reduce the use of: Caffeine, alcohol and tobacco, these are all toxins which your body is working to remove and they may disrupt sleep patterns.

I look forward to working with you. Taking this time out for  yourself is so important. Please do not hesitate to call me if you have any questions
